      I’m an EMT and we ran a cardiac arrest on a 53yr old a couple weeks ago. Relatively healthy guy except a few known heart problems and an extensive family history of heart issues. Wife told us almost half the men in his family apparently died before they hit 55 with half of the rest only barely making it past 60. We couldn’t get him back and I had to deliver the news, she didn’t even let me say it. Just nodded as I stepped towards her and said “You don’t have to say it baby. I had a feeling when I called yall this would be the one. We’ve had such a good time these past few months. I knew the dream would end eventually I’d just hoped I’d be a bit more prepared for it.” Spent almost an hour talking to her and just consoling her after it was all done, sweet little lady, my heart still bleeds for her.

        Good on you for being there for both her husband and her. The passing of a loved one is never easy but it is good to know there are people out there for us.

      I remember when that happened to me I used to pretend to be a snake and try to flick my tongue through it

      Maybe some day. We like leaving him faceless as it makes it easier to project your own grandparent/parent onto him to make things more relatable.

    It’s interesting to see the sunbeam coming in across Red, and then the lower edge of the beam blending exactly into the edge of grandma’s skirt. 🙂

    I’m glad Meister Ente mentioned the teeth/tongue thing; I’d missed that cute detail!
