When even the bench is falling apart… Silver has her work cut out for her! As the saying goes, challenge and opportunity are two sides of the same coin. There’s always plenty of demand and not enough supply of fixers and problem solvers, no wonder Silver can afford to shop around for her next job ^^
ehehe… It’s always a fine balance when doing accents with characters. Too much and it feels forced and hard to understand. Do to little and it’s like why bother.
My father made sure I could change a tire so I wouldn’t have to let a stranger too close for too long, and to do small repairs around the house to save money before I had a ‘honey do’ list 🙂 maybe she started out the same way ?
Here in Norway knowing how to change a tire, check liquids and bulbs is a requirement to getting your driver’s license. The examiner may actually ask you to demonstrate changing a tire before you get to mess up the driving part of the practical. (This may have changed slightly now with so many cars, particularly BEVs coming without a spare) There’s even a roofed over area in case of bad weather….
Of course, most forget all about it the moment they’re being told that they passed.
It should be that way everywhere, I read the owners manual for a car we had once, it told you how to change the spark plugs and the antifreeze and even how to set the timing using the handcrank…today, the book tells you not to drink the battery acid…
They really need to bring back Home Ec and Shop classes..and math…it’s painful when you try to pay in cash and even out the amount for them with loose change…we even had to get rid of the penny because the cashiers can’t figure it out anymore but thanks to what little they do teach now, they feel good about it.

I was just thinking how she might have gotten started in mechanics, not how she was going to use that to her advantage 😉
